Every Wednesday I participate in “Yarn Along”, a link-up run by Ginny over at Small Things where we share what we are knitting and reading this week. Head over to the Small Things blog to see what other bloggers are sharing!
A friend of mine who doesn’t knit gave me a grocery bag full of vintage Patons yarn a few weeks ago, and I finally sorted through it this week. There is a bunch of Canadiana that I’m going to knit up into charity items, maybe even a baby blanket although I don’t think there is quite enough yarn for that. The two balls of Classic Wool Merino I’m going to knit up into a cabled hat and cowl set. They may end up being a gift depending on how quickly I get them done. I’ve started the hat, although you can’t really see it in the photo above, I finished an extra-long ribbed brim and started the cables. The pattern is Snowstorm Hat, and I plan to adapt the Snowstorm Scarf into a short cowl by grafting the two ends together. I haven’t knit cables in awhile so its been fun to get back to it.
I’m still making my way through Decoding the Celts. It is still interesting but difficult to read due to the large size of the book. I have a few like this in my to-read pile and that is probably why I haven’t read them up until now! I should be finished this by next week.
