Yarn Along

Every Wednesday I participate in “Yarn Along”, a link-up run by Ginny over at Small Things where we share what we are knitting and reading this week. Head over to the Small Things blog to see what other bloggers are sharing!

This Kidsilk Haze Stripe cowl is just neverending. I need to get to 18″ before I can graft the two ends together, and I think I’m at something like 14″. The ball of yarn is also doing that thing where the closer you get to the end the longer it seems to last. I haven’t been doing much knitting lately because of my quilting binge so that might be one reason this is taking forever.

After hearing so much backlash against the book Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg, I knew I had to read it. Strangely, she addresses most of the backlash in the introduction, which makes me wonder if most people are reacting to a description of the book rather than the actual contents. I found myself so frustrated reading the first couple of chapters, because I went into the book prepared to disagree with everything she writes and instead she addresses all my worries and then proceeds to make her arguments very convincingly. That will teach me to believe what I read on the internet.

I may be absent from this space for a week or so as a family crisis has come up and I will probably have my hands full dealing with that. I’ll be back as soon as I can, and as soon as I have something I can share. I have a feeling there I won’t be doing my crafting in the near future.
